Taras Borisovich Buievsky is a Russian composer who works in the genres of academic, electro‑acoustic and film music. His work combines symphonic thinking with modern compositional techniques. He is the author of more than forty works for film and television, as well as major symphonic, operatic and choral compositions.

Film music
In the genre of film music, around forty works have been created — for feature and documentary films, television series, animated films, as well as for restored silent films.
A special place is occupied by the creation of a symphonic score (120 minutes of music) for Sergei Eisenstein’s silent film The General Line, commissioned by ZDF / ARTE to mark the director’s 100th anniversary. The premiere took place in Frankfurt am Main and was accompanied by a broadcast on European television. The score was published by Ries & Erler (Berlin), and the film was released on DVD (ZDF / ARTE).
